Attorney General’s Reference No 61 of 2007 (Madden): CACD 4 Jul 2007

The defendant had been found guilty of wounding with intent. The AG now appealed saying that the 3 years sentence of imprisonment was inadequate. He had attacked another man outside a oub with a knife. He had a previous offence involving an attack outside a pub with a bottle. He was a serving private in the army.
Held: A sentence of five and a half year’s imprisonment was substituted.
