Appeal from term of imprisonment of 7 years and 6 months for the offence of causing death by dangerous driving, contrary to section 1 of the Road Traffic Act 1988. The appellant was also disqualified from driving for a total period of 8 years and 9 months, comprising an extension period to reflect the time that he would spend in custody of 45 months, and an operative disqualification period of 5 years, following his release. An order for an extended retest was also made.
