UK Border Agency (Decision Notice): ICO 21 Mar 2011

The complainant asked the UK Border Agency to provide information relating to the abolishment of the Working Holidaymaker Scheme. The public authority provided some information but refused the remainder using the exemption at section 36(2) (prejudice to effective conduct of public affairs) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. During the Commissioner’s investigation it also cited section 40(2) (personal information) in respect of staff names contained within the withheld information.
