Morley, Regina v: CACD 10 Jun 2009

The defendant had been convicted of a gruesome murder and a minimum sentence of thirty years applied. He appealed, saying that the minimum term was above the tariff.
Held: Features of cannibalism took the case into the most serious categories of murder. The element was not expressly recognised in the schedule to the 2003 Act, but lists of behaviour could not cover all possibilities. The appeal failed.
