MB Supply Co Ltd T/A MB Bearings and Transmissions v Ralphs: EAT 7 Jun 2001

The employer appealed a finding of unfair dismissal. They asserted that they had made him redundant, and that the tribunal had applied the wrong test in assessing this, in not stating that they had rejected their assertion that he had been made redundant.
Held: there was no need for reasons to recite every applicable statutory provision. In effect the tribunal had found that the employer had not done enough to raise as a triable issue that he had in fact been made redundant. That was not an unreasonable conclusion, and must stand.
