Glasgow City Council v Fox Cross Claimants and Others (Practice and Procedure : Amendment): EAT 20 Mar 2013

EAT PRACTICE AND PROCEDURE – Amendment
An Employment Tribunal decided to allow an amendment to a claim for Equal Pay, which challenged the appropriateness of a purported Job Evaluation scheme by arguing that it allocated very different jobs to the same job roles, within a taxonomy of job families, although the details of these different jobs and the fact they would be used to challenge the scheme had not been notified previously to the Respondent. An argument that the ET had erred in law in its approach to exercise of its discretion to amend was rejected.
