Adjudicators Office (Decision Notice): ICO 16 Dec 2010

The complainant requested from the Adjudicator’s Office a number of items of information regarding the process of ex gratia payments and underpinning methodology. He was unhappy with one aspect of the response where the public authority claimed that it did not hold any recorded information. The Commissioner has determined that the public authority was correct that it did not hold the information, and that it also provided reasonable advice and assistance and so complied with its obligations under section 16(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Therefore, the Commissioner does not uphold the complaint and requires no remedial steps to be taken. Information Tribunal appeal number EA/2011/0001 dismissed.
