Regina v Huggins: CACD 18 Jan 2006

The defendant appealed an order for his immediate commital for contempt of court. He had been in court and shouted loud threats when his mother had been given a long prison term.
Held: His appeal was allowed. The defendant had immediately apologised, and the judge should have taken overnight to consider the case more coolly.
