HM Attorney General v Pelling: Admn 8 Apr 2005

Committal of the defendant was applied for under an allegation that he had committed a grave criminal contempt in having published a judgment issued in private in children proceedings. Though the defendant made other allegations, the facts alleged were admitted. He refused to give reasons for wanting to call two witnesses, and had left the court.
Held: The judgment was in proceedings which under the rules were to be held in chambers. The breach was shown.
