Department for International Development (Decision Notice): ICO 28 Nov 2011

The complainant requested copies of the Fiduciary Risk Assessments (FRAs) which the Department for International Development (DFID) prepares on all countries in which it provides or is considering providing aid to. The Commissioner’s decision is that DFID was correct to argue that all of the FRAs were exempt from disclosure on the basis of the international relations exemption and that it in all the circumstances of the case public interest favoured maintaining the exemption.
