Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (Central Government): ICO 1 Apr 2020

The complainant submitted a request to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) for information as to whether the BBC nominated the television presenter and documentary filmmaker Ms Stacey Dooley for an honorary MBE in 2018. DCMS refused to confirm or deny whether they held the requested information under section 37(2)(the conferring by The Crown of any honour or dignity) FOIA. The Commissioner has concluded that DCMS was entitled to refuse to confirm or deny whether it holds any information under section 37(2).
