Two originating summonses which between them raise three questions about the jurisdiction of arbitrators. How, and in particular, when is an arbitration commenced? How, if at all, can a party to an arbitration agreement join an existing arbitration between other parties to the same arbitration agreement? Can arbitrators change their minds about giving leave to amend when once they have informed the parties of their decision?
