Brustenga-Vilaseca, Regina v: CACD 5 Apr 2011

The defendant appealed against a sentence of two years imprisonment imposed on a charge of perverting the course of justice by making a false allegation of rape.
Held: The case was unusual in that she had not made any allegation against a particular individual and had not anticipated that anybody would be arrested. Sentence reduced to six months.
