Shaw, Regina v: CACD 19 Apr 2010

Application for leave to appeal against sentence and for the necessary extension of time for applying for such leave. The case is unusual because Mr McReddie on behalf of the applicant realistically and properly accepts that the sentence imposed cannot be said to have been wrong in law or manifestly excessive. His submission is that on compassionate grounds we should reduce it so that the applicant can be released and receive medical treatment which he requires in the community.
