The complainant requested from Mendip District Council (‘the Council’) information regarding the Council’s current Strategic Risk Register. The Council withheld the information under sections 44(1) (prohibitions on disclosure), 43 (commercial interests), 36(2)(b)(ii) and 36(2)(c) (prejudice to effective conduct of public affairs) of the FOIA. The Commissioner’s decision is that the Council correctly withheld the information under the exemptions cited. Therefore, the Commissioner does not require the Council to take any steps as a result of this decision.
