The complainant has requested information about a Cabinet meeting of the public authority, the London Borough of Tower Hamlets held on 8 June 2011. LBTH refused to provide this. It cited exemptions at section 36 (effective conduct of public affairs) and section 42 (legal professional privilege) as its bases for refusal. The Commissioner’s decision is that LBTH is entitled to withhold the requested information under section 42(1) of FOIA. No steps are required.
