The Attorney General appealed against a sentence of twelve months imprisonment suspended for two years with two years supervision imposed on a woman aged 39 having had sex with a 14 year old boy.
Held: The court had wrongly taken account of the sex of the victim and reduced the sentence accordingly. The Act made no distinction between the sexes, and the court should not either. The sentence should not have been suspended.
