This young appellant appeals with leave of the single judge against an extended determinate sentence of 18 years, comprising a custodial term of 15 years and an extended licence period of three years. The offences for which he was sentenced were very serious. The principal issue which arises in this appeal is whether sufficient weight was given to his young age at the time when he committed them.
