The claimant sought the rights to a patent acquired by the defendant in respect of trading systems invented by him, saying that this had been created as part of his work for them. The employment contract included a clause assigning such rights to the employer.
Held: The claim failed. The invention had not been created in the course of the defendant’s normal duties, but arose from a special assignment given to him.
