The complainant has requested a copy of an investigation report about the alleged misconduct of a former member of staff. The Information Commissioner’s [the Commissioner] decision is that Bassetlaw District Council [the council] has correctly applied the exemption at section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act [the Act] to the requested information. The Commissioner does not require the public authority to take any steps to ensure compliance with the legislation.
